The 67-year-old, who joined the Indian Super League side in August 2020, was seemingly frustrated with the match officials following his men's 1-0 defeat to Jamshedpur on Monday.
With his team now rock-bottom on the league table, Baxter unleashed his anger in a post-match interview after his club was denied a penalty during the game.
"You need decisions to go your way, and they didn't," the former Bafana boss said, as quoted by The Mirror.
"I don't know when we are going to get our penalty. One of my players will have to rape someone or get raped himself if he was going to get a penalty..."
Odisha, who initially apologised for the shocking comments, have now relieved Baxter of his duties.
"Odisha FC has decided to terminate Head Coach Stuart Baxter's contract with immediate effect," a statement via their official Twitter channel read.
"The interim coach for the remainder of the season will be announced soon."
They had initially stated: "The Club is appalled at the comments made by Head Coach, Stuart Baxter during the post-match interview today. It is completely unacceptable whatever the context and does not reflect the values of the club.
"We, at Odisha FC, unreservedly apologise and the club management will handle this matter internally."
Odisha are bottom of the Super League table after picking up just eight points in 14 games.
