Keshi's contract ran out during the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, although he remained in charge for the final two qualifiers.
The announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon at the Abuja National Stadium and the 2013 Afcon winner says he is thinking about the past.
“We need the media. I cannot do this alone,” Keshi said to the Nigerian media.
“I will work with my office (the nff) to move our football forward. The past is the past.”
“We lost in the past, we drew and we lost. But we have to move forward now.”
