Star-studded Spain play hosts to Argentina, who are without talisman Lionel Messi, on Tuesday night in an international friendly. Here is how the teams will line-up!

International friendly

Teams: Spain v Argentina

Time: 21:30

Venue: Wanda Metropolitano

La Furia Roja head into the clash having tested themselves in a 1-1 draw against the reigning FIFA World Cup champions Germany last week, while Jorge Sampaoli’s Argentina beat Italy 2-0.

For the Albiceleste, the likes of Eduardo Salvio, Sergio Aguero and Manuel Lanzini will miss out due to injuries, while Spain have confirmed that David Silva has left the squad for personal reasons, while Andres Iniesta is also a doubt.

The two nations have only met on the international stage three times since 2006, with Spain winning twice and Argentina winning once.

Messi missed his country’s last match due to a hamstring strain and again misses out this evening, arguably as a precaution.

Sampaoli has lost just once in nine games since taking charge of Argentina last year, while Julen Lopetegui, who was appointed Spain boss in 2016, remains unbeaten in 17 matches.

The clash on Tuesday will give the managers a good indication of where their respective sides are ahead of the 2018 World Cup, a tournament just three months away.

Even if Messi is there, he doesnt score as he normally do with Barca, i think the Agentina players are not at his level, same as Ronaldo, although he scores but the players around him are not of the same quality as he is. Both players dont perfom the same in their national teams than they do on the teams in Spain.
