Uruguay began their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Bolivia at the Estadio Hernando Siles.
Martin Caceres tapped home from close to hand the visitors the lead in the 10th minute, before the win was sealed Diego Godin in the 69th minute.
The home side finished the game with 10 men after defender, Jair Torrico, was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge.
Colombia 2-0 Peru
Colombia got their campaign underway with a 2-0 win over Peru at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez.
Teofilo Gutierrez gave the hosts the lead in the 36th minute, before Edwin Cardona sealed the three points for the Colombians in stoppage time.
Venezuela 0-1 Paraguay
Venezuela began their qualifying campaign with defeat, as they went down 1-0 at the hands of Paraguay on Thursday.
The winning goal arrived six minutes from the full-time whistle courtesy of a strike from Dynamo Kiev forward Derlis Gonzalez.
