Leicester City goalkeeper Schmeichel, who reached the round of 16 at the 2018 FIFA World Cup with Denmark, is doing a very good job of emulating the heroics his father, former Manchester United shot-stopper Peter, used to perform on the pitch and was picked in goal.
Bleacher Report's defensive trio compises Daley Blind, son of former Netherlands international Danny Blind, Steve Bruce's son Alex, as well as Marcos Alonso, son of ex-Spain winger Marcos Alonso Pena.
In midfield, siblings Thiago and Rafinha Alcantara, sons of Brazilian 1994 FIFA World Cup winner Mazinho, were selected alongside Paul Ince's son Tom, as well as Timothy Weah, son of George Weah, who is, to date, Africa's only Ballon d'Or winner.
Up front, Diego Simeone's son Giovanni, Patrick Kluivert's son Justin and Enrico Chiesa's son Federico made the XI.
Note: This XI was published by Bleacher Report. To be eligible, the football-playing sons had to be active players otherwise a star such as Paolo Maldini, son of Cesare Maldini, would have made the cut.
