Eto'o Reveals His Message To Messi
Etienne Eto'o Pineda, 19, was released by Real Oviedo, who play in the second tier of Spanish football, at the end of the 2020/21 season, but has reportedly been offered a new opportunity.
According to The Sun, the Cameroon U20 international has been offered the chance to trial at Benfica in Portugal as the young forward looks to emulate his iconic father.
The teenager is said to be currently training with the Portuguese club's B team, and will be hoping to stay on a permanent basis as he seeks to impress his coaches.
Earlier this year, after scoring an incredible free-kick on his debut for Cameroon's U20 side at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, he admitted to having big ambitions for his football career.
"There is always pressure in life whether or not you are the son of a famous person. But for me, I just try to enjoy my career and demonstrate to people that I can do it," he said at the time.
"My dad has played a huge influence in my life because I have always admired him and want to learn from him and continue in his steps.
"Always I want to be someone like him. I want to try and be better than him and I am always looking forward to stepping on the pitch and giving my best.
"Even though I know it is difficult to be better than my father, I want to work hard to achieve like him. He is always there to support me and give me advice."
