A shock report has suggested that Brazil legend Ronaldinho faces the threat of more jail time after already serving months behind bars last year.
The former Barcelona playmaker was arrested in Paraguay in March 2020 after allegedly producing a fake passport in an attempt to enter the country.
Following time spent in prison and a spell under house arrest, Ronaldinho and his brother Roberto de Assis were released in August last year, ending an almost six-month legal dispute with Paraguayan authorities.
Now in his native Brazil, the famous Selecao icon could be in more trouble with the law over a reported maintenance payment controversy with a former girlfriend.
According to the Daily Mail, Ronaldinho has been instructed to settle his debt with his ex-partner Priscilla Coelho by 1 December to avoid his assets being potentially seized and possible time behind bars.
If matters escalate, it would not be the first time Brazilian authorities take control of his assets, with a similar event taking place in 2018 over an environmental damage charge.
The damage was believed to be caused by a construction project the brothers carried out in a protected area in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
