Update: 23 Teams Have Qualified For The World Cup So Far

Twenty-three of the 32 participants of the 2018 FIFA World Cup have already booked their tickets to Russia. Read on to find out which nations have qualified for next year's tournament!

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo both booked their spot in Russia after Argentina beat Ecuador 3-1 away from home courtesy of a hat-trick from the FC Barcelona superstar and Portugal beat Switzerland 2-0.

Here is a complete overview of all the teams that have qualified for Russia 2018:

Europe (10): Russia (hosts) Belgium, England, Germany, Spain, Poland, Serbia, Iceland, France, Portugal

The eight best runners-up of the nine European qualifying groups will face each other in two playoffs, with the draw taking place on 17 October – they are: Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Denmark (all likely to be seeded), Northern Ireland, Sweden, Republic of Ireland and Greece (likely to be unseeded, with the seeding based on the upcoming FIFA ranking, which will be announced on 16 October).

South America (4): Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia

The fifth-placed side on the South American qualification table, Peru, will face New Zealand in an intercontinental playoff in November.

Africa (2): Nigeria, Egypt

Three more African teams will qualify during the final group fixtures in November.

North, Central & Caribbean America (3): Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama

Asia (4): Iran, Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea

Australia beat Syria 3-2 on aggregate to book their spot in an intercontinental playoff against Honduras, who finished fourth in North, Central and Caribbean America ahead of the United States, in November.

Oceania (0): The winner of the Oceanian qualification group, New Zealand, will face Peru in an intercontinental playoff in November.
