Reports: List Of Ballon d’Or Contenders Leaked

A list of the contenders for the FIFA Ballon d'Or has reportedly been leaked and features some outrageous names, as well as four Africans.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim they have received an exclusive list of 59 pre-selected candidates for this year's Ballon d'Or.

The list, with outrageous names such as Arsenal's second-choice goalkeeper David Ospina and even one English League One player, was apparently sent to members of FIFA's Football Committee and leaked to the Spanish publication.

The pre-selected list of 59 names, which features African stars Yaya Toure, Wilfried Bony, Andre Ayew and Christian Atsu, will be cut down to 23 before national team captains, coaches and nominated journalists vote for their favourites.

Here is the leaked list in full, ordered by clubs:

Real Madrid: Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric, James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos, Cristiano Ronaldo

FC Barcelona: Claudio Bravo, Javier Mascherano, Andres Iniesta, Ivan Rakitic, Neymar, Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi

Juventus: Giorgio Chiellini, Paul Pogba, Alvaro Morata, Arturo Vidal (now Bayern), Andrea Pirlo (now New York City), Carlos Tevez (now Boca Juniors)

Bayern Munich: Robert Lewandowski, Arjen Robben, Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer, David Alaba

Manchester City: Wilfried Bony, Yaya Toure, Sergio Aguero
