Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has been named Footballer of the Year in Germany for the first time in his career.
Kroos, who finished second in last year's voting, won 185 of 475 votes that was gathered by The Association of German Sports Journalists.
The Los Blancos star beat out competition from Freiburg striker Nils Petersen and Schalke defender Naldo.
"It is and will remain a nice honor Footballer of the Year - this is a prize that is not so easy to get - and above all not everyone," Kroos told Kicker.
Former Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes also picked up an accolade as he was named Coach of the Year, beating out Schalke's Domenico Tedesco and current Bayern coach Niko Kovac.
