The winner of the 2019 Samba Gold award for best Brazilian player in Europe has been announced, but Neymar failed to make the top three.

It was announced on Thursday evening that Liverpool goalkeeper won the 2019 award ahead of club teammate Firmino and Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar.
Alisson, who is the first goalkeeper to win the award, won with 35.54 percent of the votes, which came from journalists, former players and fan polls.
It was a glorious 2019 for Alisson, who won the UEFA Champions League, Copa America, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
Firmino came in second with 23.48 percent of the votes, while PSG stalwart Thiago Silva completed the podium.
Silva and Neymar remain the only players to win the award on three ocassions, whle Alisson is the third Liverpool to win the award after Firmino (2018) and Philippe Coutinho (2019).
