Earlier this week, it was announced that Pep Guardiola's City had secured the services of 21-year-old striker sensation Erling Haaland, who will leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.
While he has not yet played professionally in England, the forward was born in the British country in 2000, the same year his father Alf-Inge left Leeds United to join the Citizens.
Although the Bundesliga giants will have dreamed of hanging on to Haaland, it did not take long for the club to confirm his replacement in the form of Germany international Karim Adeyemi, who will join Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg.
Promising Spain right-back Pedro Porro, meanwhile, has departed City for Sporting Lisbon, where he has spent the past two seasons on loan.
In England, Aston Villa confirmed the permanent signing of Brazil international Philippe Coutinho from Spanish giants Barcelona on Thursday. The 29-year-old has penned a four-year deal in the Premier League.
Coutinho leaves the Catalan club after 106 appearances and 39 goal contributions, and having claimed five titles with the Blaugrana.
