Following the U23's triumph at the Olympic Games, FC Barcelona superstar Neymar has stepped down as captain of Brazil.
The 24-year-old led his nation to their first ever Olympic Gold medal, after they defeated Germany on penalties on Saturday night.
However, despite securing the only title that evaded Brazil, the Barcelona forward reveals he does not want the armband anymore.
“I don't take it as a pressure, it is you (the press) who say it,” Neymar said to TV Globo.
“But today, as a champion, I am giving (up) the captain's armband. I was glad to receive it, I have honored it, but today I am (leaving it). Tite can choose another captain."
Neymar was appointed Selecao's captain in 2014 by former coach Dunga, taking over from Paris Saint-Germain defender, Thiago Silva.
