With just 22 international matches being played over the past month, there were not many changes in the ranking.

Germany stayed at the top of the chasing pack, followed by Brazil and Portugal, with Lionel Messi's Argentina in fourth place.

Croatia and Iceland were the only climbers in the top 20, with the former moving to 15th, above England and Mexico, and the latter climbing to 20th, above the Netherlands and Uruguay.

Tunisia replaced Senegal as the highest ranked African nation after moving up four spots into 23rd position, one above the Lions of Teranga.

Africa's other representatives at the World Cup, Egypt, Morocco and Nigeria, sit in 30th, 39th and 51st position, respectively.

Somewhat surprisingly, South Africa moved up three spots from 81st to 78th despite not kicking a ball over the past month.
