Following the Selecao’s 3-0 win over Ecuador as well as their 1-1 draw with Colombia during the recent international break, the South Americans have been overtaken by Germany.

Joachim Low’s side beat Czech Republic 2-1 before thumping Norway 6-0, which helped them to climb into the top spot.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal are further on the rise and have jumped up three places into third position, one above Lionel Messi’s Argentina, who only produced two disappointing draws during the recent international break.

Belgium complete the top five after overtaking Poland and Switzerland, while France climbed back into eighth position.

Copa America champions Chile as well as Colombia continued their downfall and now only sit in ninth place and tenth place respectively.

Football giants such as Spain (11), England (15), Italy (17) and Netherlands (20) all appear outside the top 10.

Africa’s highest ranked nation Egypt dropped five place and now appear in 30th spot, while South Africa fell to 80th position following their two defeats against Cape Verde - it's Mzansi's worst position in over four-and-a-half years.

The latter were the highest climbers in the latest ranking, jumping up 47 places after their heroics against Bafana Bafana.
