While the UEFA Champions League has taken centre stage this week, one goalkeeper in North America channelled his inner Oscarine Masuluke to score a remarkable last-minute winner for his side.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, Mexican side Tigres secured a 5-4 aggregate win over Alianza in their Round of 16 CONCAFAC Champions League tie.
With the match drawing to a close, Tigres were facing elimination on the away goals rule before veteran goalkeeper Nahuel Guzman, who is a former Argentina international, popped up with a remarkable goal to win the match in the fourth minute of additional time.
Guzman's strike spared the Liga MX side's blushes against the minnows from El Salvador, who had scored twice on the day through Juan Carlos Portillo, and kept their hopes of a first-ever Champions League crown alive by progressing to the quarter-finals.
Tigres are home to a number of familiar faces, including former France international Andre-Pierre Gignac, ex-West Ham United striker Enner Valencia and Chile star Eduardo Vargas.
