Cameroon Edge Nigeria, Italy Win Big!

Spain 0-0 Portugal

Spain and Portugal could not be separated in their first international friendly before the 2020 UEFA European Championship after playing to a goalless draw at Wanda Metropolitano.

La Roja named a strong squad, with Aymeric Laporte making his first start after switching his international allegiance from France.

Meanwhile, A Selecao were missing some key players who played in the UEFA Champions League final but they could still call upon the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Diogo Jota and Joao Felix.

Jose Fonte had a goal disallowed for Portugal in the 22nd minute for a foul in the build-up and Alvaro Morata had a great chance to snatch the winner for Spain in stoppage time after going one-on-one with goalkeeper Rui Patricio but his chip came off the crossbar.

Italy 4-0 Czech Republic

Italy ran riot for the second successive international friendly after hammering Czech Republic 4-0 at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

Ciro Immobile and Nicolo Barella gave Roberto Mancini's charges a two-goal cushion at half-time before Lorenzo Insigne and Domenico Berardi added two futher goals in the second stanza to complete the rout.

Nigeria 0-1 Cameroon

In-form Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho could not prevent Nigeria from losing their first international friendly of the year after a narrow 1-0 defeat to rivals Cameroon at Wiener Neustadter Stadion in Austria.

Zambo Andre-Frank scored the only goal of the match for the Indomitable Lions in the first stanza and it was enough to end their two-game losing streak in friendly internationals.

Faroe Islands 0-1 Iceland

Iceland got back to winning ways after edging Faroe Islands 1-0 in an international friendly match at Torsvollur.

After a goalless first stanza, Mikael Anderson eventually netted what proved to be the winner for Iceland in the last 20 minutes.

Finland 0-1 Estonia

The return of Teemu Pukki did no help Finland as they lost their third consecutive game in the international friendlies after a narrow 1-0 loss to Estonia at Olympiastadion in Helsinki.

After a goalless first stanza, the visitors were awarded a penalty on the hour-mark that was scored by Rauno Sappinen and that proved to be the winner, as Estonia won only for the third time in all competitions since March 2019.
