France produced a dominant display in their 4-2 victory over Russia at the Stade de France on Tuesday.
The hosts wasted no time in making their mark on the clash as Leicester City's N'Golo Kane grabbed the opener in the 7th minute to hand France a 1-0 advantage early on.
The French did well to maintain the pressure on the Russian defence, and after a couple half-chances, Andre-Pierre Gignac produced a fine header to extend their lead to 2-0 with 37 minutes on the clock.
The visitors couldn’t have asked for a better start to the second stanza, as Alexander Kokorin found himself at the end of a neatly played set-piece in the 55th minute to make it 2-1.
Just when the visitors were starting to gain some momentum, Dimitri Payet spoiled the party with a sublime free-kick in the 63rd minute to extend France's lead to 3-1.
Athough, the visitors were proving to be fighters as Yuri Zhirkov pulled one back four minutes later, 3-2.
Kingsley Coman then rocked up in the 75th minute to seal the deal with a well taken effort, taking the score to 4-2 and ensuring Les Bleus walked away solid victors on Tuesday evening.
