England made light work of the Republic of Ireland after cruising to a 3-0 victory in an international friendly on Thursday night.
The Three Lions named a second-string side, with Jack Grealish starting against his former youth nation while Nick Pope, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Mason Mount and Reece James were handed starting berths,
The hosts were on the front foot in the early exchanges and Maguire eventually gave them the lead in the 18th minute with a header at the back post from Harry Winks' cross.
Jadon Sancho doubled the lead for Gareth Southgate's charges on the half-hour mark with a low shot into the bottom corner after cutting inside from the right side of the box.
While the visitors were unable to carve out chances in the opening 45 minutes, Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave the Three Lions a commanding 3-0 lead 11 minutes after the break with an unstoppable penalty into the top corner after Cyrus Christie brought down Bukayo Saka in the box.
Maguire came very close to adding a fourth goal for England in the 66th minute with a header at the back post from Saka's free-kick that evaded goalkeeper Darren Randolph, but his effort missed just wide.
Alan Browne had a rare chance for Ireland with 20 minutes remaining after going through on the right side of the box, but second-half substitute goalkeeper Dean Henderson made a good save after initially stumbling in anticipation of the shot.
England were threatening to get the fourth goal in the closing stages whenever they went forward but they settled for a 3-0 win in the end, as they now set their sights on visiting Belgium in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday evening while Ireland will visit Wales on the same evening.
