Neymar's second-half goal was enough to hand Brazil a 1-0 win over South American rivals Uruguay at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night.
Brazil went for goal after seven minutes through a free-kick from Neymar which sailed over the wall before looking to creep in at the near post but the danger was averted.
A mistake by Danilo after good pressing from Luis Suarez found at the end of a golden chance, but Alisson Becker reacted well by tipping it for a corner at the midway stage.
On the half and hour mark, Neymar fed Filipe Luis in the penalty area and after great skills by beating two defenders, shifted to ball to his weaker right foot only to blaze over the bar.
On the stroke of halftime, Uruguay found a good chance to go in front when Suarez picked out Edison Cavani but after slow reaction, the PSG star failed to get his shot away accurately.
With no changes at the break, Suarez managed to get his free-kick around the wall but Alisson was able to get across for a strong save.
Neymar broke free inside the box and fired a shot at goal from a difficult angle, but was unable to hit the back of the net on 65 minutes.
With 15 minutes to go, the Selecao was granted a penalty after Diego Laxalt’s foot connected with Danilo inside the penalty box.
Neymar tucked the ball into the bottom corner, sending Martin Campana the wrong way for his 60th international goal.
Moments later, It could’ve been two after Neymar found Richarlison in the area with a low cross, but from a few metres the Everton striker side-footed wide of goal.
With the lead in hand, Brazil started playing the way everyone knows how with their smooth possession based game in seeing out the victory.
