Bernado Silva netted a brace to inspire Manchester City to come back from two goals down to secure 3-2 win over Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup.
The Bavarians named a strong line-up that included the likes of Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, Kingsley Coman, David Alaba and Rafinha.
Riyad Mahrez was handed another start for the Citizens, while Claudio Bravo , Bernado Silva and Laporte were the only other senior players.
Pep Guardiola entered this encounter on the back of two success defeats in the tournament, losing to Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool.
The Germans got off to the perfect start when they took the lead against the run of play, with Meritan Shabani heading home from close range.
It was 2-0 after 24 minutes as Robben collected a fine pass from Ribery before calmly slotting past Bravo from close range.
However, City gave themselves hope of a comeback just before the break when Bernado Silva cut inside and buried low strike past Sven Ulreich on the edge of the box to reduce the deficit.
The equaliser arrived shortly after the halftime break, with young striker Lukas Nmecha latching onto a loose ball before firing into the bottom corner.
Silva then completed his brace on 70 minutes as the Portuguese midfielder latched onto a pass from Adrian Bernabe before firing past Ulreich with a composed finish.
Both sides threw on a couple youngsters in the remaining stages of the second half, but it was Guardiola's side who held on to claim their first win in the International Champions Cup.
The Premier League champions will now turn their attention to the Community Shield against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.
