Iker Casillas and Andres Iniesta have pleaded with Spanish fans to stop booing FC Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique, whenever the national side play.
Pique has been at the heart of a lot criticism in Spain, following comments he made about Cristiano Ronaldo's birthday party last year.
The Barcelona has since been booed wherever he travels with the Spanish national side, which included their 2-0 win over Slovakia on Saturday and two senior La Roja players have asked the fans stop with the booing.
“I’d like for the whistles to stop because they affect us all," Iniesta told reporters.
"We all have to pull in the same direction. Everything will work better if they stop."
Casillas, meanwhile, echoed the sentiments from his Spanish teammate, following the win in Oviedo on Saturday night.
"Let's see if together we can redirect the feelings of the fans towards Pique," Casillas said..
"We want fans to continue clapping for everyone."
The 2010 World Cup winners travel to the Nacionalna Arena Filip II Makedonski on Tuesday, where they will take on Macedonia in their next Euro 2016 qualifier.
