An ex-teammate of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's has revealed that he received a few slaps from the legendary striker after waking him up with a kiss on his lips.
After bursting on to the scene at Malmo, Ibrahimovic earned a move to Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam in 2001, where he spent a total of three seasons.
During his time in Holland, the Swede shared a dressing room with many high-profile stars, including Andy van der Meyde, who was once tipped to achieve great things in his professional career.
In a recent interview, the retired midfielder, who was capped 17 times for the Netherlands, revealed how a prank he played on Ibrahimovic went too far and resulted in him receiving a few smacks to the face.
"When we were at Ajax, I always sat next to Zlatan on the bus," Van der Meyde told Dutch TV show VTBL.
"Once when he was sleeping, I got gay tendencies and kissed him on the mouth. Seconds later, I got a couple of slaps."
After amassing 122 appearances for Ajax, Van der Meyde joined Italian giants Inter Milan, for whom he played 54 games and contributed to 12 goals.
Two seasons later, he made a move to Everton in the Premier League, but failed to replicate the early promise he had shown in his home country.
Here are eight transfers that were confirmed on the weekend:
