Kwesi Nyantakyi, president of the Ghana FA, has suggested the Ghanaian league should invite more 'sexy ladies' to the stadiums in order to get more men watching.
Nyantakyi, who has been at the helm of the Ghana FA since 2005 and owns a Ghana Premier League club, insisted men will follow the ladies to the games, thereby boosting the league's attendance figures.
"Me, I have said this thing over and over again. We must let sexy ladies enter our stadia and the men will readily follow them into the stadium to watch games," Nyantakyi told a local radio station, as quoted by Ghana Web.
"Most of these men, when they hear that beautiful girls are coming to the stadium today, they’ll all jump and follow them to the stadium… and they are going there to see the ladies.
"I remember there was one match where we brought some beautiful girls who were in nice jeans to the stadium and the girls started walking around the stadium and come and see the hysteria it created in the stands.
"The men in the stands went into frenzy and when the ladies waved at them, come and see how jubilant they (the men) were.
"And so we must try and use all these tricks to boost attendance at the stadium."
Nyantakyi's strange suggestion seems outdated and surely won't go down well with female activists, but it is yet to be seen whether the Ghana FA will follow suit.
