France Announce Squad For WC Qualifiers, Snub Seven Stars

France boss Didier Deschamps has announced his 24-man squad for their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers, snubbing seven stars, including a Real Madrid striker and a Manchester United star.

The 2016 UEFA European Championship finalists will face Bulgaria on 7 October before hosting Belarus four days later.

Deschamps' side is currently first in Group A with 17 points, one ahead of second-placed Sweden.

The French coach has not changed his stance on snubbing Real's Karim Benzema following his involvement in the Mathieu Valbuena sex tape scandal in 2015, while Paul Pogba and Ousmane Dembele are both sidelined due to injury.

Here is France's complete squad, as announced by the French FA's official Twitter account:

Goalkeepers: Alphonse Areola (PSG), Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur), Steve Mandanda (Marseille)

Defenders: Presnel Kimpembe (PSG), Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal), Djibril Sidibe (Monaco), Samuel Umtiti (Barcelona), Raphael Varane (Real Madrid), Christophe Jallet (Lyon), Lucas Digne (Barcelona), Layvin Kurzawa (PSG)

Midfielders: N'Golo Kante (Chelsea), Blaise Matuidi (Juventus), Adrien Rabiot (PSG), Corentin Tolisso (Bayern Munich), Moussa Sissoko (Tottenham Hotspur)

Forwards: Olivier Giroud (Arsenal), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal), Kylian Mbappe (PSG), Florian Thauvin (Marseille), Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich), Thomas Lemar (Monaco), Dimitri Payet (Marseille)
