France Announce Squad For Euro Qualifiers, Snub 6 Stars

France coach Didier Deschamps has announced his squad for the upcoming 2020 UEFA European Championship qualifiers, but snubbed big names who play for the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Arsenal.

Click through the mini-gallery above to see six stars, who were snubbed for France’s latest squad.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winners are facing Turkey and Bolivia, after starting their Euro qualification with a 4-1 win at Moldova and a 4-0 victory over Iceland in group H.

They also face Bolivia in a friendly ahead of their two upcoming Euro qualifiers.

France are still recovering from their failure to reach the finals of the inaugural UEFA Nations League, which will take place in Portugal between 5 June and 9 June.

Deschamps has once again left out long-term absentees Karim Benzema and Aymeric Laporte, while he gave FC Barcelona centre-back Clement Lenglet, Olympique Lyon right-back Leo Dubois and LOSC Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan their maiden call-ups.

Here is France’s squad in full, as confirmed by their official twitter channel:

Goalkeepers: Alphonse Areola (Paris SG), Benjamin Lecomte (Montpellier), Hugo Lloris (Tottenham), Mike Maignan (Lille)

Defenders: Lucas Digne (Everton), Leo Dubois (Lyon), Clement Lenglet (Barcelona), Ferland Mendy (Lyon), Benjamin Pavard (Stuttgart), Samuel Umtiti (Barcelona), Raphael Varane (Real Madrid), Kurt Zouma (Everton)

Midfielders: N'Golo Kante (Chelsea), Blaise Matuidi (Juventus), Tanguy Ndombele (Lyon), Paul Pogba (Manchester United), Moussa Sissoko (Tottenham)

Forwards: Wissam Ben Yedder (Sevilla), Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich), Olivier Giroud (Chelsea), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Thomas Lemar (Atletico Madrid), Kylian Mbappe (Paris SG), Florian Thauvin (Marseille)
