A former France international has criticised Les Bleus' manager for not selecting Karim Benzema since 2015.
Benzema came under fire two years ago when he was alleged to be involved in an extortion scandal involving Mathieu Valbuena and a reported sex tape.
The forward was first banned from selection by the French authorities, but has been available to play for France for longer than a year and a half now.
However, France boss Didier Deschamps has continued to leave the Real Madrid forward out of the team, something former Arsenal and Manchester City star Samir Nasri cannot understand.
"I feel sorry for him (Benzema), because he really wants to come back to play for the French national team," he said, according to Canal+.
"It's really unfair what is happening to him. It's silly to overlook a player like that.
"You could have an attack of (Kylian) Mbappe, Benzema, (Antoine) Griezmann, (Ousmane) Dembele. For me, it's an act of stupidity."

Benzema has represented France on 81 occasions so far, scoring 27 goals along the way.
