England Announce Squad For Final WC Qualifiers, 10 Stars Miss Out

England boss Gareth Southgate has announced his squad for their final two 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Three Lions currently lead their qualification group after collecting 20 points from their first eight games, and need just two more points to secure qualification. England will face third-placed Slovenia on 5 October before travelling to Lithuania three days later.

Southgate omitted a number of injured players, including Jamie Vardy, while the likes of Theo Walcott and Luke Shaw, among others, have not convinced the coach of a recall following their unimpressive start to the new campaign.

Here is England's complete squad, as announced by the FA's official Twitter account:

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (West Ham United – on loan from Manchester City), Jack Butland (Stoke City), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Fraser Forster (Southampton)

Defenders: Ryan Bertrand (Southampton), Aaron Cresswell (West Ham United), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Phil Jones (Manchester United), Harry Maguire (Leicester City), John Stones (Manchester City), Michael Keane (Everton), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), Kyle Walker (Manchester City), Kieran Trippier (Tottenham Hotspur)

Midfielders: Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Jake Livermore (West Bromwich Albion), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Liverpool), Fabian Delph (Manchester City)

Forwards: Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United), Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Jermain Defoe (AFC Bournemouth), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)
