Borussia Dortmund advanced to the quarterfinals of the DFB Pokal after they defeated Dynamo Dresden 2-0 on Tuesday evening.
Jurgen Klopp went with a strong line-up against the side from the German third tier, starting the likes of Marco Reus, Shinji Kagawa, Mats Hummels and Circo Immobile.
Dortmund dominated the opening exchanges as expected, although they failed to create any openings even with their stars on the pitch.
Klopp was a dealt a blow in the 24th minute, as Marco Reus had to be substituted after sustaining an injury following a late challenge from Dennis Erdmann.
After a first half that failed to produced any efforts on goal, Dresden came close to opening the scoring five minutes after the halftime break but Robert Andrich's volley forced Mitchell Langerak into a fine save.
However, Dortmund went ahead five minutes later, Circo Immobile pounced on a poor back pass, before blasting the ball home.
Dresden nearly hit back in the 54th minute but Langerak was on hand to deny Eilars from close range.
Klopp's men eventually sealed the win and progression into the last eight in the 90th minute, Immobile latched onto a pass from Jakub Blaszczykowski, before slotting home from close range.
