David Beckham has shown his ruthless side in firing his Inter Miami coach after just one season and is now reported to want to replace him with former Manchester United teammate Phil Neville.

The Inter Miami co-owner and his board decided to sack Diego Alonso, with the club announcing his departure on Thursday.
"This was a difficult year and a very tough decision for everyone, but we believe it is the right step for the club," a club statement read.
"We have great expectations for Inter Miami in the short and long term."
Alonso had guided Miami into 10th place during their inaugural Major League Soccer season, but sources have told ESPN that Beckham and his fellow investors want to see improvements in performance in 2021.

A new coach is wanted to lead the club in a new direction and Beckham has reportedly spoken to his former United teammate Phil Neville to take over.
The 43-year-old is a co-owner of EFL League Two side Salford City with Beckham, but has yet to take his first role in management in the men’s game.
He has coached the England women’s team since 2018 and spent a season as first-team coach at United under David Moyes in 2013/14.
He also briefly worked at Valencia under Nuno Espirito Santo and with his brother Gary Neville.
