Following the news that Mbwana Samatta has joined Premier League side Aston Villa from Genk, we decided to look at more African players who have switched clubs since the beginning of January.
The Tanzania captain impressed in his four years in Belgium, and has been brought in to solve Villa's current issues up front, with Brazilian forward Wesley having been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a cruciate ligament injury.

Samatta has joined the Villans for a fee of about €11.7 million (R189 million), but there was another African star whose move was more expensive. Morocco's Youssef En-Nesyri left Leganes for Sevilla for €20 million (R323 million), making him the costliest African signing in Europe so far in this window.
Cameroonian striker Karl Toko Ekambi joined Olympique Lyon in a loan deal from LaLiga side Villarreal, while 22-year-old Henry Onyekuru left Monaco for Galatasaray, though he will return to France come the end of the campaign.

Back to Belgium, Knowledge Musona has joined Eupen on loan from Anderlecht, with Mamelodi Sundowns reportedly going to close to luring the Zimbabwe international back to the PSL.
