Lewandowski Nets Hat-Trick As Poland Thump Armenia
Armenia 1- 6 Poland
Robert Lewandowski bagged a hat-trick to lead Poland to an emphatic 6-1 trouncing of Armenia on Thursday night.
Kamil Grosicki opened the scoring for the visitors in the second minute while Lewandowski extended the lead in the 18th minute before making it 3-0 in the 25th minute.
Horhannes Hambardzumyan reduced the deficit to 3-1 in the 39th minute but the hosts capitulated in the second half. Jakub Blaszczykowski put the game away from Armenia making it 4-1 two minutes before the hour mark.
Lewandowski completed his hat-trick in the 64th minute, before Rafal Wolski added the final nail in the coffin one minute before time.
Scotland 1-0 Slovakia
Scotland maintained their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup after defeating Slovakia 1-0 on Thursday night.
Slovakia had bad luck riding over them as they were reduced to ten men when Robert Mak was sent off in the first half.
Former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel turned the ball into his own net one minute before time to hand the hosts three points.
San Marino 0-8 Norway
Mohamed Elyounoussi's hat-trick propelled Norway to a 8-0 thumping of San Marino on Thursday night.
Markus Henriksen grabbed the lead for the visitors in the eighth minute before Joshua King scored two penalties inside three minutes to make it 3-0.
Then Elyounoussi also scored two goals in the 39th and 48th minute making it 5-0, before Ole Selnæs added another to make it 6-0.
Elyounoussi completed his hat-trick in the 68th minute, while Martin Linnes completed the trouncing four minutes from time.
Montenegro 0-1 Denmark
Christian Eriksen's first-half strike was enough to hand Denmark a 1-0 win over Montenegro at the Stadion Pod Goricom.
