Real Madrid star Isco netted a brace to inspire Spain to a 3-0 win over Italy in a 2018 World Cup qualifier on Saturday evening.
After a quiet start to the encounter, the hosts eventually broke the deadlock after 13 minutes courtesy of a fine free-kick from Isco.
Italy nearly leveled matters in the 22nd minute but David De Gea produced a superb save to deny Andrea Belotti from close range.
Spain continued to dominate the possession as the first half went on and they went close on 26 minutes but Gerard Pique headed over from close range.
The home side eventually doubled their lead five minutes before the halftime break as Isco got his second with a fine low finish from the edge of the box.
The Azzurri went close to reducing the deficit 10 minutes in the second half but Belotti's header sailed over the crossbar.
Italy opted for a double change on 70 minutes as Federico Bernardeschi and Eder replaced Belotti and Antonio Candreva.
However, it was Spain who got the next goal as Alvaro Morata turned home Sergio Ramos' cross just five minutes after his introduction.
Italy did push for a consolation goal in the closing stages, but De Gea was on hand to ensure they kept the clean sheet.
