Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Jabu Mahlangu, formerly 'Pule', announced his initial retirement in 2012 after playing for the likes of Kaizer Chiefs, SV Mattersburg, Orlando Pirates, Platinum Stars and Osters IF
Mahlangu then made a surprise return with SuperSport United in the 2013/2014 season, although he only made three Absa Premiership appearances before he retired for good in 2014.
In the 2012/2012 season, Manchester United fans were left stunned after Paul Scholes came back to the first team just a couple months after retiring at the end of the 2010/2011 season.
The decision was made public on 8 January 2012, a few hours before the Red Devils took on Manchester City in a FA Cup clash, where Scholes came on as a second-half substitute.
