Some high-profile superstars such as Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero could move for free at the end of the season, but here are 10 footballers who have been without a club for quite some time already, including an African international captain!

Despite making a promising start to his career at FC Barcelona, Spanish striker Bojan Krkic has somewhat battled to lived up to those early expectations, having played for four clubs over the past four years.
The 30-year-old was last on the books of MLS club Montreal Impact, where he was coached by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry. Bojan joined the club in 2019 from Stoke City, and scored seven goals in 31 matches for the US side.
With 163 appearances, Barcelona remains the club the forward has played the most for in his career to date, followed by Stoke City (85), Roma (37) and Ajax Amsterdam (32).
Bojan also had stints at AC Milan, Deportivo Alaves and Mainz, but there remains a feeling that he should have enjoyed a much more illustrious career, and in 2018, the striker revealed how anxiety attacks affected his game.

The ex-Blaugrana academy starlet has also previously suggested how comparisons to Messi harmed his reputation, saying: "In the end, I know my qualities and I know I'm not Messi. I'm Bojan. If people want to say 'This guy was not the new Messi', okay, yeah I was not the new Messi."
Former Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa has been without a club since the turn of the year, after a mutual agreement between him and the LaLiga leaders to terminate his contract. The 32-year-old made just seven appearances for Los Rojiblancos in the first half of the season, with injuries getting in the way of the Brazil-born striker's game time.
