Football has seen many changes over the past few months, largely due to the coronavirus outbreak that has rocked the world, and some of them have been managerial too.
German coach Middendorp was recently relieved of his duties as Chiefs boss after losing out on the 2019/20 Absa Premiership title to Mamelodi Sundowns. The Amakhosi's decision to dismiss him did not come as much of a surprise, but the 61-year-old did still have a year remaining on his contract.
There have been two sackings at Spanish giants FC Barcelona this year, with Ernesto Valverde being let go in January and Quique Setien being fired as recently as August. Dutch boss Ronald Koeman is the LaLiga side's third boss in 2020 so far.
Former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri was also sacked by Italian giants Juventus last month, and replaced by Italy legend Andrea Pirlo, who will be hoping to improve the Bianconeri's form in European competition.
