The Netherlands became the first big European nation to call off the 2019/2020 season, with the Eredivisie and Eerste Divisie being called off without a champion being declared.
In France, Paris Saint-Germain were crowned champions for a third straight season after the Ligue 1 season was cancelled while Lorient were awarded the Ligue 2 title and promoted along with second-place Lens.
Africa has also felt the affects of the outbreak, as the Federation of Uganda Football Associations cancelled the season this week, handing Vipers the league title.
As a result, Vipers will represent Uganda in the CAF Champions League while runners-up KCCA FC will compete in the Confederation Cup.
