10 Highest Earning Midfielders In Europe

Manchester City duo Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva have been in incredible form this season, but where do they rank among the 10 best paid midfielders in European football? Take a look at our gallery!

Both De Bruyne and Silva have played key roles in City’s title-winning season under Pep Guardiola, in which they have controlled most games in the middle of the park.  

Reports claim that De Bruyne, who has assisted 15 times in the Premier League this season, is said to earn £350 000 (R5.9 million) a week at the Citizens, making him the best paid midfielder in Europe.

The second highest paid midfielder is Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, who is believed to be on a weekly wage of £300 000 (R5 million), ahead of Manchester United’s Paul Pogba on £290 000 (R4.9 million) a week.

New FC Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho is reportedly fourth on the list with his weekly salary of £240 000 (R4 million), while the aforementioned Silva is believed to earn £220 000 (R3.7 million) every week, the same as his club colleague Yaya Toure.

Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos is said to be on £200 000 (R3.3 million) a week in Spain, while Atletico Madrid’s Koke is on a wage of £190 000 (R3.2 million).

Luka Modric and Sergio Busquets follow at ninth and tenth place, with both midfielders said to be on £180 000 (R3 million) a week at their respective clubs.
