Starting XI: Uruguay V England

2014 FIFA World Cup

Group D

Teams: Uruguay V England

Date: 19 June 2014

Venue: Arena Corinthians

Both England and Uruguay will look to get their 2014 FIFA World Cup campaigns back on track when they lock horns in their second Group D match at the Arena Corinthians on Thursday.

The match is scheduled to start at 16h00 local time in Sao Paulo, which is 21h00 South African time.

England suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Italy in their opening group match while Uruguay suffered a major upset after going down 3-1 to Costa Rica.

The results have left England in third place in the group while Uruguay occupy last place.

A loss for either side on Thursday night will more than likely end their World Cup campaign, so expect both sides to lay it all on the line.

The two countries have met each other on ten previous occasions with Uruguay having the better of the encounters after winning four times to England’s three while three matches have been drawn.

The ten games have produced 23 goals, so we can expect a high scoring affair tonight, especially with both countries’ tournament lives on the line.

Here is how they line up.

Uruguay: Muslera, Godin, Pereira, Rodriguez, Suarez, Gimenez, Lodeiro, Arevalo Rios, Gonzalez, Cavani, Caceres.

England: Hart, Johnson, Bianes, Gerrard, Cahill, Jagielka, Sturridge, Rooney, Welbeck, Henderson, Sterling.
