Brazil coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari, has been hit by a personal tragedy just one day ahead of the World Cup.
His nephew, Tarcisio Joao Schneider, reportedly died in a car accident on Tuesday.
Several local and international media outlets report, the 48-year-old's car collided with a truck at a roundabout in the city of Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul.
The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determind according to Brazilian Federal Highway Police.
Brazilian radio station, Radio Uirapuru, have reported Scolari’s nephew was found dead at the scene while the truck driver escaped injury.
It remains uncertain whether Scolari will leave the Selecao training camp just one day before the opening game to be with his grieving relatives, with a date for his nephew’s funeral yet to be confirmed.
The sad news made round in the host nation and have shocked Brazilians all over the country.
