Jennifer Lopez will follow Shakira to perform the official song of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
J’Lo will team up with rapper Pitbull and Brazil star, Claudia Leitte, for the track called “We Are One (Ole Ola)", and FIFA hopes the song can follow in the footsteps of Shakira’s “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)."
The new single is written and co-produced by Pitbull and “set to bring the passion of Brazil to the world.” It shall further “ignite the excitement felt by football fans around the world in the lead-up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup."
The announcement was made on Thursday at the Maracana Stadium, with Claudia Leitte and Pitbull joining FIFA secretary, Jerome Valcke as well as LOC representatives and Brazil legends, Bebeto and Cafu.
“In my many visits to this country, I’ve heard a lot about the great Brazilian music tradition and it gives me great pleasure to see a Brazilian artist at the heart of this song,” said Valcke.
“I’m sure, like me, millions of football and music fans all over the world will be eagerly awaiting the song’s release.”
