Manchester City legend Yaya Toure will join an illustrious SuperSport line-up, including Benni McCarthy and Minnie Dlamini, as well as many local and international experts who will bring you the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
"Yaya Toure, one of the most celebrated African players of the past decade, will be joined by straight-talking Jay-Jay Okocha, Dwight Yorke, one half of the deadly duo which spearheaded Manchester United's charge to a historical treble in 1999, plus former Manchester United and Everton fullback Phil Neville and Italian maestro Gianfranco Zola, one of Chelsea's greatest players," an official press release from SuperSport read.
On the local front, Samson Siasia, Shaun Bartlett, Gavin Hunt, Andre Arendse and Benni McCarthy will be the names to analyse and preview the games of the World Cup.
"The presenters will be made up of the experienced foursome of Robert Marawa, Carol Tshabalala, Neil Andrews and Andy Townsend," the press release read.
"With a 24-hour World Cup channel already on air, the broadcast offering will be supplemented on 1 June with the launch of another 24-hour High Definition World Cup channel (SS3) that will run until 15 July. It will include pre-World Cup friendlies.
"Language options will be English, Portuguese, Pidgin English, Swahili, isiZulu and SeSotho.
"SuperSport also offers special shows such as lifestyle magazine From Russia With Love, anchored by Minnie Dlamini with Thato Moeng and Charles Anazodo providing inserts from other regions, while FanFest, a show that has supporters at its core, will broadcast every Saturday at 10am on SS3 simulcast on Mzansi Magic with Julia Stuart as the main host with two celebrity guest presenters.
"There will be a daily one-hour news special on SuperSport Blitz during week days (7-8am), anchored by Julia Stuart and Crystal Arnold with former Russian club players Matthew Booth and Stanton Fredericks plus Lucas Radebe on hand to add ballast to the broadcasts. Bulletins will include updates and news stories, plus updates from the Nigeria camp.
"In addition, former Republic of Ireland World Cup player Andy Townsend will host a show called Master Plan – to be broadcasted twice weekly on SS3 – with focus on strategic and tactical analysis.
"Completing the broadcast experience is Insights, a preview and review show hosted by Phil Neville that will include in-depth chats with ex-football players focusing on tactics, injuries and goals, and finally, SuperSport will also introduce its first-ever live-streamed soccer show on Facebook called On The Ball. This is a fan-focused show with a fun feel that will tap into the drama of the FIFA World Cup, and also look at the lighter side of soccer."
