Switzerland Stars Facing Disciplinary Action For Goal Celebrations

Switzerland star duo Xherdan Shaqiri and Granit Xhaka are facing disciplinary action from FIFA for their goal celebrations against Serbia.

The Swiss came from behind to record a 2-1 win over the Serbians on Friday and boosted their chances of qualifying for the last 16.

However, Shaqiri and Xhaka caused a bit of controversy with their goal celebrations that is believed to similar to the eagle flag of Albania, which could cause political tensions in the Balkans.

"The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has opened disciplinary proceedings against the Swiss players Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri for their goal celebration during the match Switzerland vs. Serbia," the governing body said in a statement.
 
The world football governing body does not allow the imagery of political messages or symbols in stadiums.
 
 
Both Shaqiri and Xhaka are of Kosovo heritage, while the Arsenal star was actually in the country,
