After an incredible season with Lyon, France international Nabil Fekir is one player who could find himself on many teams' shopping list. The midfielder, who is currently valued at between £50 and £60 million (R835 million and R1 billion), has been chased by Premier League clubs Liverpool and Chelsea, among others, according to the Daily Mail.
The English publication also feels that Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is another who could use the showpiece in Russia as a stepping stone in his career. The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with Jose Mourinho's Manchester United in recent weeks, and could cost more than £80 million (R1.33 billion). Other clubs that are also said to be interested in the Serbia international are Real Madrid, Juventus and Chelsea.
Germany international Timo Werner will be one to look out for in this year's competition and if all goes well, we could see him move to one of Europe's elite sides. The 22-year-old has been linked with Real Madrid before, but the RB Leipzig forward could see his stock rise if he nets a few goals at Russia 2018.
Others who could also use the tournament as an opportunity to put themselves in the shop window, according to the Daily Mail, are Emil Forsberg (Sweden), Goncalo Guedes (Portugal), Kasper Dolberg (Denmark), Fred (Brazil) and Ismaila Sarr (Senegal).
