After a couple shaky performances in the group stages, Spain will lock horns with 2018 World Cup hosts Russia in the round of 16.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 16h00.
Spain’s preparations for the competition were derailed by the firing of coach Julen Lopetegui a day before the tournament got underway.
However, Fernando Hierro stepped in and managed to lead the team to the top of Group B after registering two wins and a draw.
Diego Costa has been key for the 2010 world champions, having netted three goals in the group stages.
Russia, meanwhile, entertained many with some impressive football in their first two Group A games, which saw them thrash Saudi Arabia 5-1 before they defeated Mohamed Salah's Egypt 3-1.
The hosts did, however, finish second in the group after they lost 3-0 to Uruguay in midweek.
These two nations have met on six previous occasions, with Spain claiming four wins compared to Russia's zero, while two matches ended in draws.
Here's how they line up:
Spain: De Gea; Nacho, Pique, Ramos, Alba; Koke, Busquets; Silva, Isco, Asensio; Costa.
Russia: Akinfeev, Fernandes, Kudryashov, Kutepov, Ignasevich, Zhirkov, Samedov, Kuzyaev, Golovin, Zobnin, Dzyuba.
