FIFA World Cup, Group H
Teams: Senegal vs Colombia
Date: 28 June 2018
Venue: Samara Arena
Jose Pekerman's Colombia will require all three points if they are to secure a place in the knockout stages of the competition, but one point may be enough for them should Japan and Poland play to a draw.
The only previous meeting between the Africans and the South Americans was a friendly match in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the buildup to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, which ended 2-2 after 10-man Senegal managed to come back from a 2-0 deficit.
The Lions of Teranga have faced South American opposition only once in the tournament's history: a 3-3 draw with Uruguay in the 2002 showpiece.
Los Cafeteros have a decent record against African opponents at the World Cup – they have won two out of those three matches, with the only loss being recorded back in 1990 against Cameroon.
Colombia have been quite clinical in front of goal in Russia so far, having scored four goals out of their seven shots on target, including the three strikes that found the back of the net against Poland.
On-loan Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez has netted six goals and assisted a further four in the seven World Cup appearances he has to his name, while Senegal are unbeaten in the 15 matches Sadio Mane has scored in.
Here is how the two teams will line up:
Senegal: K.Ndiaye, Sabaly, Koulibaly, Sane, Gassama, Gueye, Kouyate, Sarr, Mané, Niang, Keita Balde.
Colombia:Ospina, Arias, Yerry Mina, Sanchez, Mojica, Carlos Sánchez, Uribe, Cuadrado, James, Quintero, Falcao.
