FIFA World Cup, Group D

Teams: Nigeria vs Argentina

Date: 26 June 2018

Time: 20:00

Venue: Saint Petersburg Stadium

It is all or nothing for Jorge Sampaoli's Argentina on Tuesday evening, with only a win being enough to get Argentina through to the next round, which will also only happen if Iceland fail to beat Croatia.

A loss or draw for La Albiceleste will see the South Americans sent home, although their World Cup campaign has already been covered in disappointment.

Sampaoli's troops have picked up just one point from their first two matches, but their fortunes could have been different had superstar forward Lionel Messi scored his penalty against Iceland.

Nigeria, who lost to Croatia in their first game in the tournament, beat Iceland last week courtesy of a brace from CSKA Moscow's Ahmed Musa, which puts them in a great position to advance to the round of 16.

These two nations have met six times before, with Argentina winning four of those matches and the Nigerians victorious on the other two occasions. Messi scored twice the last time these two sides met at the World Cup, a 3-2 win for La Albiceleste in the group stage in 2014.

The Barca man will be looking to recapture some of that form on Tuesday, with many having blamed him for Argentina's woes in Russia so far.

The Argentines have scored just one goal in their two matches, and have conceded four times. Nigeria have found the back of the net twice in their first two games, and let in the same number of goals.

Argentina go into the match having scored at least two goals in their past three matches against the Super Eagles, a run they will be hoping to extend.

Here is how the two teams will line up:

Nigeria: Uzoho, Idowu, Balogun, Omeruo, Ekong, Ndidi, Etebo, Mikel, Musa, Moses, Iheanacho

Argentina: Armani; Mercado, Otamendi, Rojo, Tagliafico; Enzo Perez, Mascherano, Banega, Di Maria; Messi, Higuain.
