FIFA World Cup, Group B
Teams: Iran vs Spain
Date: 20 June 2018
Venue: Kazan Arena
Even though the result from their first match was not what the Spaniards would have wanted, they are still considered as one of the favourites to win the showpiece in Russia.
The European giants will be slightly worried going into this encounter, though, having been eliminated at the group stages in two of the past three World Cups in which they have failed to win their opening game.
Portugal currently top the group after seeing off Morocco 1-0 this afternoon.
Iran, who will be facing La Furia Roja for the first time, are winless against European opposition at the World Cup, having lost five of their six previous fixtures against them.
Diego Costa will be the one of the many players Iran will need to keep a close eye on during the fixture as the Atletico Madrid star has scored eight goals in his past eight international starts.
Here is how the teams will line up:
Iran: Beiranvand, Sadi, Ezatolahi, Pouraliganji, Omid, Karim, Amiri, Mehdi, Hosseini, Sardar, Ramin.
Spain: De Gea, Carvajal, Pique, Ramos, Alba, Busquets, Iniesta, Silva, Isco, Vazquez, Costa.
