Former Nigeria international Daniel Amokachi is one of those players who was able to use the World Cup as a platform for his move to Everton. The striker netted twice for the Super Eagles during USA 94, and one of those was an incredible solo effort against Greece.
Manchester United signed Brazil international Kleberson after the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan. The midfielder, who signed for the Red Devils in a deal worth £6.5 million (R117 million) in 2003, was also being monitored by Leeds United and Newcastle United after his tremendous performance against England in the tournament.
Sunderland broke their transfer record to sign striker Asamoah Gyan after the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The English side paid Ligue 1 outfit Rennes £13 million (R235 million) for the Ghana international after he scored three goals in five games in the competition.
Others who moved to the Premier League after good showings at the World Cup include Marcos Rojo, Gilberto Silva, Didier Zokora, Aliou Cisse, Antonio Valencia, Mustapha Hadji and Enner Valencia.
