Vicente del Bosque has described his Spanish side’s 5-1 loss to the Dutch as sickening, and the 63 year old stated it was impossible to explain.
The defeat was the worst that Spain have suffered in 51 years after losing to Scotland 6-2, but Del Bosque wants his world champions to move on and beat Chile in their next game.
“I feel sick,” the World Cup winning manager stated.
“The defeat is impossible to explain. I don’t have words. Normally we are stronger in defence but today we were weaker there... and everywhere.”
“There is no need for a revolution. We did not win but we will move on and try to recover. This is a very delicate moment for us but we must all try to resolve things, beat Chile and move on from there.”
“There is no way to explain what has happened,” he acknowledged again, “but it is one game and we have to move on now,” Del Bosque concluded.
